todayAugust 25, 2025

Background

Start your day with the Legendary Halls of Justice

Larry Justice (born Lawrence Kirk Justice on September 20, 1939, in Little Rock, Arkansas) began his radio journey as a teenager—landing his first gig at KBBA around 1955 while still in high school, then moving on to KGHI (later KAJI) and rising to program director at KNLR in 1957.

Following military service, he adopted the on-air persona “Barefoot Larry Justice” at WPCG/WPGC in Washington, D.C., in 1962–1963. In 1965, he joined Boston’s WMEX as an original “Good Guy,” hosting first the afternoon drive and later the morning show, eventually moving on to WBZ and WROR.

In the early 1980s he stepped into station ownership—purchasing WCIB-FM on Cape Cod and later growing Justice Broadcasting to five stations across Vermont, Massachusetts, and Florida; he sold the company in the late 1990s.

In 2020, he and Anthony LaGreca acquired WMEX 1510 AM & 101.1 FM, bringing him back to “The Halls of Justice,” where he continues to host weekdays his beloved oldies-drive show. In recognition of his decades-long impact on Boston radio, he was inducted into the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame on June 5, 2025.
