Céline Dion remembers late husband on his birthday: ‘We celebrate you always’

On Tuesday Céline Dion paid tribute to her late husband, René Angélil, on the ninth anniversary of his death. And on Thursday she once again remembered him, on what would have been his 83rd birthday.

The Canadian superstar posted a photo of Angélil on Instagram and wrote, “Today is your birthday, but the date doesn’t matter because there isn’t a day that we aren’t celebrating life with you. You are a part of us every day in the memories we cherish.”

“While going through all the years of pictures and videos that consistently keep you alive, we hear your voice, we see your gestures and we adore your spirit,” she continued. “We celebrate you always. Happy Birthday René, Notre Amour [our love].” 

She signed the message, “Céline, RC, Nelson and Eddy” — RC is the couple’s oldest son, René-Charles, and Nelson and Eddy are their twins.

On the anniversary of his death Céline celebrated her husband as “my greatest champion, my partner, and the one who always saw the best in me.” The two wed in 1994.
