Documentaries about Billy Idol, Culture Club & more to premiere at New York’s Tribeca Festival

Billy Idol, Culture Club and Counting Crows are among the musicians with films premiering at this year’s Tribeca Festival.

Idol is set to perform at the festival, where his documentary, Billy Idol Should Be Dead, directed by Jonas Åkerlund, will premiere on June 10. According to the description, Idol “bares it all” in the film, with the doc following his “rise to fame, battle with addiction and triumphant comeback that captivated millions of fans worldwide.”

The festival will also see the world premieres of Culture Club, a documentary on the ’80s hitmakers directed by Alison Ellwood, and Counting Crows: Have You Seen Me Lately?, which follows Adam Duritz and the band from their debut album to now. Both films debut June 5.

The Tribeca Festival runs from June 4 to June 15. The festival will open with the world premiere of the Billy Joel documentary Billy Joel: And So It Goes at the Beacon Theatre in New York. A complete list of films and ticket information can be found at TribecaFilm.com.
