A Hall of Fame Moment: Celebrating Larry Justice

Since 1965, Larry Justice has been a familiar and comforting voice on the radio for countless fans across Boston—and far beyond. Whether you grew up listening to him on your way to school, dancing in the kitchen to one of his sets, or tuning in from miles away just to hear that unmistakable sound of WMEX, Larry’s presence has been a steady part of so many lives.

Today, we’re proud to share that Larry is being inducted into the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame, a well-deserved honor that recognizes not just his decades-long career, but also the impact he’s had on generations of listeners. It’s more than an award—it’s a tribute to a man who helped shape the sound of Boston radio and gave a voice to the spirit of this city.

To mark this historic moment, all WMEX staff will be off the air so we can stand together in celebration of Larry’s achievements. It’s our way of saying thank you—to Larry, and to everyone who has joined us on this incredible journey. Music will continue to play during this time, and we’ll return to regular programming on Friday morning at 7:00 AM.

We know this moment means a lot not just to us here at WMEX, but to fans across the country and the world—many of whom grew up listening to Larry and now get to see him honored in the Hall of Fame. It’s a beautiful full-circle moment, and we’re grateful to share it with all of you.

From all of us at WMEX, thank you for your continued support of local radio, of Larry, and of the magic that happens when great music and great voices come together on the airwaves.

Let’s celebrate this legacy together. Here’s to Larry Justice—forever a part of Boston’s radio history.
