About Us

A familiar sound in the Boston area is back!

It’s the all-new 1510 WMEX playing “The Greatest Hits of All Time”!

The original WMEX first went on the air on October 18, 1934. However, the station is best known for its’ “Top 40” days from 1957 until the early 70’s when the station was run by the Richmond Brothers. The rock-and-roll pop-music era featured legendary disc jockeys through the years such as Larry Justice, Bill “The Jones Boy” Jones, Mel Miller, Dan Donovan, Fenway, Melvin-X-Melvin, Bill Lawrence, Ron Robin, Jerry Gordon, Dick Summer, John Garabedian and of course Arnie “Woo Woo” Ginsburg with his unique “Nitetrain” show. Talk legend Jerry Williams even hosted a late night call in talk show in the late 50’s featuring frequent guest Malcolm X.

In March of 2018, Ed Perry, owner of Marshfield Broadcasting, purchased WMEX with the intention of bringing back all the great music and memories that the station was known for. In fact, you’ll hear the very same Larry Justice back on the all-new 1510 WMEX. Today, WMEX has a brand new state-of-the-art studio and broadcasts at 10,000 watts during the daytime from a tower located in Quincy. You can also stream WMEX online.
